School of Dance students delivered a strong performance at the Born Frees production, “Hear our voices”, which was held at Artscape theatre from July 13-15. The Argument choreographed by Marlin Zoutman, UCT faculty member and Artistic Director of New World Dance Theatre explores the dynamic relationship between humans, in particular the male-female relationship, through highly charged physicality and raw emotions. The overall aesthetic of the contemporary work, a paradoxical interplay of wild, and raw movements performed with clean and detailed precision was powerfully embodied by the cast of third and fourth year dancers. Our dance studies continue to be enriched by our partnerships with local professional dance companies and artists.
