This short, dance work explores notions of Black Dance and is purposefully tongue-in-cheek. It is not a literal viewing of dances rather an exploration of emotions and taboos that are frequently kept in the dark. The 40mins dance work traces a variety of contemporary dance vocabularies and is made darker with some slam poetry. A notion of privilege is critiqued and repositioned through this evocative embodied encounter. The small cast has bravely dealt with questions of the many self-imposed barriers which may be hidden / in the dark. Hence , this exposure of dancing in the dark.
(For logistical reasons there will be a 10mins chat after the performance with the directors and cast).
